The Ironbark Gallery
Welcome to The Ironbark Gallery. We are based in the picturesque mountain retreat of Kuranda Village in Far North Queensland, Australia just 25km from the city of Cairns, but a world away in atmosphere, surrounded by World Heritage rainforest and in close proximity to the contrasting Savannah Country where the hardwoods are located. The Gallery was founded on one man’s appreciation of the beauty and colour of the native Australian hardwoods. Created by nature, crafted by Trevor, works in The Ironbark Gallery are native Australian hardwoods (apart from occasional pieces of mango wood or rainforest timbers) sourced locally and hand crafted by Trevor Brodie. Trevor works with the unique qualities and shape inherent in each piece of timber to create works of art that celebrate nature’s beauty. The wood used to create the products you see in the Gallery is sourced locally from the bush in Northern Queensland— from trees that have died, fallen or been burnt in a bushfire. Many of Trevor’s creations are crafted from burls which results in unusual shapes and colorations and very interesting art pieces. Each unique timber piece is a one-off, sourced locally and handcrafted in Kuranda. If you need something special for yourself or as a gift, ask about having a piece custom made just for you.
